.

I provide creative and strategic solutions, backed by rigorous scientific research, meticulous synthesis of scientific evidence, adherence to highest publication standards, and clarity in presentation. I decipher complex data into strategic communications.

Broad Clinical Expertise

I have 18 years of medical writing, clinical research and pharmacoepidemiological research experience. I am a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), a credential denoting membership in a select group of clinical pharmacists on the cutting edge of patient care. In my previous role in academic clinical medicine, I taught medical and pharmacy students, residents and fellows. My clinical practice experience encompasses outpatient primary care (including diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, anticoagulation and other chronic disease management), and inpatient medicine (including services in internal medicine, cardiology, oncology and hematology, and intensive care units). I have also served on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee of a major health system and represented the pharmacy department on formulary recommendations.

Extensive Clinical and Epidemiological Research Experience

During my time at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, I have the privilege to serve as a principal investigator / project leader for 30 clinical and outcomes studies funded by the National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association, other foundations and pharmaceutical companies. Besides clinical trials, I also conduct epidemiological research using real world data and administrative databases. My roles in these projects have included strategic gap analyses, research design, proposal writing, creating data analyses plan, directing clinical research, biostatistical analyses, data interpretation, regulatory submissions, and communicating findings. I have also been a biostatistician for 18 clinical, health outcomes and pharmacoepidemiological research projects.

I am honored to have served as an invited reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals, textbook editor for academic societies, as well as grant reviewer for federal organizations and non-profit professional societies.

My broad medical experiences and professional background provide me with the perspective to communicate effectively with medical as well as lay audiences. My target audiences include physicians, scientists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and other clinicians, payers, managed care decision makers, employer groups, sales force, patient educator, and lay audiences.

My happy clients have included:

I enjoy gardening and hiking, and taking a scientific approach to testing gluten-free recipes.
